why such a small viewership?

Why did so few people watch Nearly Famous? I'm from America and was amazed when I saw Skins. While I watched the OC and currently watch Gossip Girl, it's essentially for superficial reasons. However, Skins really portrayed the emotional/physical conflicts and experiences for teens.

Obviously, I thought the same thing when I came across Nearly Famous on Youtube. I instantly fell in love with this series. It had the potential to be completely cheesy, but it wasn't, which I really admired. Plus, the characters were so unique and well-developed for only 6 episodes. I know this show would probably be welcomed in America and is not as risque as Skins. I just don't understand the flaws of the show.
