Canon, yes or no?

Should we consider this to be part of the Resident Evil canon or just a spinoff, what do you think?

It had the basic story of RE0,1 and 3 but they changed the storyline around a bit to make things work. There was no Barry Burton and also no RE 2 and CV. The only thing I would prob consider canon would be the final mission about the end of Umbrella.

DAMN!

The only part i consider canon are the Umbrella's End levels

I see someone agrees with me, any others?

I'd say the canon parts are the last chapter (fall of umbrella) and all the chapters you unlock, at least the ones i've unlocked (nightmare, beginnings, Rebirth) can fit easily into the canonicity of the series. Cant get a damn A on the last chapter of RE 3 to get Ada's scenario and can't beat the fooking final monster... :P

I don't think it's canon because it conflicts other RE'S in a lot of places. I thinks it's just a party game and can be ignored.

Whilst I do accept that Umbrella's end is canon, I hate how they conveniently throw Sergei in all over the place, I don't buy that at all, it just feels forced.

Also, classing Umbrella's end as canon means I have to accept Talos as canon... and I shudder at that thought!

I like to think of the game's story as a retcon. Its easier to follow that way.

The new Bond flick should've been called Quantum of Soulless instead!

No more forced that how they have injected Wesker into everything, even events that occurred in RE2 and RE3.

I personally would love to believe this game is just a rehash for the NEW fans that don't care about the story but for the old fans, nothing more than fun. In the real universe of Resident Evil the whole main cast goes to EUROPE to destory Umbrella's Headquarters. Not Jill and Chris is a bullsh*t organization sent to Russia

The only levels I considered canon is...

Rebirth
Death's Door
Umbrella's End
and Dark Legacy, including the cutscene after the credits

It's probably just like Darkside, where the retellings of the past games are non-canon, but the new chapters are. So, in Darkside, the retellings of 2 and CV are non-canon, but Leon and Krauser in South America is. And for Umbrella, the retellings of 0,1 & 3 are all non-canon, but Umbrella's End, Death's Door and Nightmare, as well as Wesker's single player missions, are all canon.

Jean Grey could have lived to become a god, but it was more important to her she die... a human.
