Utter nonsense

I don't know what planet this story is set on, but it's not planet Earth. Everyone acts (without evident motivation) like a bunch of 8 year olds none of whom grasps the concept of legal authority (not even the cops). There is no recognizable behavior that any real person would engage in.

Comparisons are being drawn to Hot Fuzz, but in fairness that movie had clear (if preposterous) motivations for the characters and was a lot of fun. This is just the nonsense without the humour.

I agree. *******A kind of big spoiler alert******* I just can't imagine that the main character (police man) didn't realize he was suffocating the woman. The main character in the movie just didn't have the type of personality necessary to not realize he was killing her. I stopped liking the movie at that point. I finished the movie anyway, but the movie never recovered from that unenjoyable ridiculousness.

Yeap. Pure nonsense.

He was seeing and hearing things! He was on and off medication. He was totally mentally unstable. What are you talking about?

Agreed. We're talking about a character recovering from a mental breakdown, who's trying to wean himself off prescription drugs and reliance on alcohol and likely suffers from depression (I don't think we see him smile once throughout the film).

A well- balanced individual, he is not.
