Worst film I have ever seen. Here is why:

I just saw Gutterballs for the first time last night and thought it was one of the worst films I've seen. I don't mind the violence or even the rape if there's a strong story and good acting to justify it, and I don't mind a cheesy B-movie if it's not going to make me sick to my stomach, but to make a film with gross-out violence AND offer nothing to redeem it in the way of script, story, acting or production value - what's the point?

None of the characters were believable. The girl going bowling with a rival team just one night after they brutally rape her? Internal injuries aside - and that's been brought up in another thread - why would she want to face them? The guy with glasses; if he regretted what happened so much, why would he want to face her? It's not like he accidentally killed her dog. He inflicted severe physical and psychological injuries that would likely never go away. Either the director is deliberately making a mockery of the subject, or he has no comprehension of what rape actually is.

Besides that, the dialogue was continually and needlessly perverse. The occasional expletive, sexual reference and bit of trash-talk is funny, but to make up virtually the entire dialogue of the film? The characters no longer sound like real people, but stand-up comedians forced to insult each other with one crude 'your momma' joke after another through the entire film. At least I didn't feel bad when they died. If their dialogue is any indication of their intelligence, I'm surprised they had lived to be as old as they were in the film.

That being said, I enjoyed the running joke of the guy constantly complaining about his broken foot and telling his mates to get him his 'bitches' and a beer. At least he offered some comic value.

This movie was never meant for you then my friend. If you need a redeeming reason for anything to happen, this was never going to be your thing! Not to be insulting, I just genuinely think not every movie is for every person, which I like. If every movie was generic enough to appeal to 100% of the population, we'd have some real garbage all around us!

Here's what I mean: I don't like romantic comedies, because there are well established traits within them that I know to expect and dislike. So I don't watch them. I recommend you do the same with gory horror movies in all sincerity. Very few will live up to your standards for them. I could be wrong, i'm just basing this on your post above.

I mean did you really expect them to treat the rape consequences with full scrutiny to realistic detail? In a revenge horror movie homage to the 80s slasher days? Seriously? Also most of the filthy language wasn't in the script, it was added by the actors. Hard to get much more 'real' than that i'd say...
