Damage to the Va-jay-jay

Overall, I really appreciate this film for what it is. I would have preferred a bit better dialogue and a better lead actress. As she was horrifically gang raped, she hardly screamed or struggled. As a woman, I automatically empathize with the plight of the victim. However, it was difficult for me to feel anything more than basic human compassion because the actress was very lifeless. She literally lacked ANY measure of humanity, charisma, charm or strength. She just seemed void of personality. Now, for my question...

The manner in which she was assaulted would have left her vagina and rectum completely torn and most certainly, she would be in excruiating pain! She would need to be hospitalized for at least a week or more. She would most likely need surgery for internal bleeding and possibly even to repair the damage done to her on the inside. Walking would be difficult. Yet, she was back at the bowling alley ONE DAY LATER?!!? WTF??? Even the most hardcore b!tch with a high tolerance for pain and suffering wouldn't just "sleep it off" and head back out the next night. I found this to be the most distracting and absurd aspect of the film. At the very least, the night of the murders/revenge should have been a week later. But one day?

I haven't seen the whole movie, just this scene, and I get the feeling the lead actress' performance was as much the director's fault. A better director might have gotten a better performance out of her--might have known what kind of things she *should* have been doing.

I read someone's comments on this movie elsewhere (this scene, in particular), that compared it to I Spit On Your Grave and described it as explicit--I don't know if he meant explicit or if he meant graphic. Either way, I've seen ISOYG and I have to disagree sooooo much. The attack in ISOYG was much more convincing and seemed much more brutal to me. The assault in this movie seems like ISOYG For Dummies.

As for her injuries, if she was back a day later, I hope the director/writer was going for camp and not anything the slightest bit realistic.
The assault in Dispara was similar, with a wine bottle in place of the bowling pin, with the main character hemorrhaging so badly over the course of the next few days, that she died at the end, due to not having gotten proper medical care.

Oh he was definitely going the campy cheesy route and it works. I did think about how she wouldn't be walking yet let alone going back the the bowling alley though. Also I agree ISOYG is definitely executed better and a lot harder to watch because of it.

The actor was pretending to rape her with his pants up.
Perhaps pop songs like Turn me loose and Communication
breakdown during the rape scene didn't help.
