Can someone help me understand this scene? (spoilers!!!)

Can someone help me with the rape scene?

What was your interpretation of it? It appeared as though he thought he was making love to the female botanist, while she instead was traumatized as though she was raped aggressively. They flashed back and forth between the two interpretations. Do you think she was really raped, or was she just afraid of him?

What also confused me, was that after the "rape" he found a way to escape their cell through the ceiling. Right before he held his hand down to help her out, he said to himself "it's not me, it's not me". Then he reached down to her and said "come on". Do you think he was trying to reconcile what he did to her by telling himself that it wasn't him that attacked her, but something that was taking control of his mind?

I'd love to know what other people think happened there.

So, do you think she was really raped? I don't understand how he could rape her but think he was making love to her. What do you think happened? I'd like to know what You think!

Here is where you're make a mistake.
It's not two interpretations but the making love, his interpretation, and the rape, wich is reallity.

So yes she is raped but in his mind he thinks he's making love to her.

I wrote an explanation above if you want to read it. It's attached to the 'DUMB SCENE' comment. I think he didnt know what happened. His human side, and the animal side within him were in conflict -if you read everything I wrote it mike make sense.
