Fetish Site

Would a fetish message board really have noticed the photos of Megan? I'm not a frequenter of such boards, but I would assume that similar material is not surprising enough to warrant contacting the FBI. Was it that the photos seemed too "real" to be staged? Just curious on how everyone else felt about that part...

reply

I didn't notice what it said when they flashed that picture (that image has stayed in my head - wish I could "unsee" it lol). It's possible one of the members (or guests) of the board saw this picture, thought she looked like the missing girl, and turned it into the police? Or if maybe the fbi (or police departments) monitor some of the more extreme sites (just a thought ...)

I think someone on another thread said fetish sites don't usually include blood...I could be wrong but maybe that stood out to one of the site mods.

"Why do people visit boards of movies they dislike to complain? Absolutely nothing else to do!"

reply

there's thousands of different fetishes.S&M and/or genital mutilation sites have lots of blood.
look up BME pain olympics or hurtcore

but yea i thought it was funny

BME Olympics -_- shutter

reply

You know BME is fake right?

reply

It might have to do more with how young she looked. While the actress may be way older, the girl is only supposed to be 14, which is really disturbing.

reply

Uh, no, the stuff on fetish sites would NOT look like that--stuff you'd find on those sites are usually more professional looking and staged. Also, the participants in the photos/videos are usually willing (and you can tell)--and they aren't severely hurt or killed (duh!)--else, it would be freaking snuff, NOT "fetish" (which is a completely different). Those photos of Megan looked like something out of a damn police file (obviously)...

Maybe there are some crazy-ass sites that DO glorify *beep* crap like that, but those AREN'T "fetish" sites...

What a load of nonsense. Part of the turn on for many people is the fact that the model is appearing to be unwilling, or that the picture looks real. There is no reason this picture would appear to be anything out of the ordinary on fetish sites, unless the person recognized her as the missing girl on the news.

reply

Haha. Umm, no, not nonsense. The models may pretend to look "unwilling", but it's usually obvious it's being staged. If it wasn't, fetish sites would get into A LOT of trouble, believe me (I would know, I'm in the damn fetish scene!)...

reply

Knowing that you're in the fetish scene... and your username is "fourballoons" kind of frightens me.

it is nonsense. Are you on FetLife? People post amateur photos all the time that look just like that. They're not professional, they're not models.

reply

Most fetish sites don't make it a habit of containing what is obviously extreme torture porn. The pics of Megan were extreme and would make most people, even those who enjoy bondage and other fetishes, look closer. If they recognize the girl as the one who is splashed all over the news, then yeah, I bet someone would contact the web host and the police.

reply

It was like something out of SAW/Hostel.

The filmmaker claimed that this idea came from a real life incident where 2 pictures of a missing girl in a fetish device were found online . Later, her dead body was found. However, he didn't give the name of the girl and I can't find the case online. I don't know, it seems plausible to me that someone could recognize a missing girl while randomly surfing for porn online.

I think this kind of thing happens a lot in even morbid ways.

reply

I thought they contacted the FBI because someone realized the girl in the torture pictures was the missing girl from California.

That is sad.

reply

I Don't think that photo would have even raised an eyebrow on most fetish sites. It would be more likely that somebody would report it to the police because they thought it looked like the missing girl.

reply

I think, as other people have said, that after quite a few people filed complaints, someone would have looked at it and realized something was wrong, since I'm sure they know the website back to front.

But on the subject of the fetish image, did anyone else get the biggest fright of their lives from the first picture?

There used to be a very popular hard BDSM website called 'Insex' that produced imagery very similar to the pictures of Megan. It was closed down in 2005 by the US Government under the new anti-terrorism act, though the site didn't have any ties to terrorism and didn't practice anything illegal. They went out of their way to make it clear the whole thing was mutual and that the model participated with consent.

There is also a documentary called 'Graphic Sexual Horror' with interviews with the old models and the founder of the site. It's interesting to see how what started as a personal passion for the founder turned into just another career driven business.

Though nowhere the norm, it's not particularly unusual to find pictures of women restrained in a similar way to Megan. The difference is in the details. You can tell by Megan's eyes she's panicking, a trait you usually don't see in pictures where the person consents.

Yes. Good God, yes. I would give anything to unsee that.
