"How many times can you watch the same fantastical stories and dumb characters rebooted over and over and over?"

I mean it's NOT the same stories over and over or rebooted characters, soooo...... Kinda hard to take your argument seriously when you're so flat out wrong.

reply

Nope. They're pretty much the same. Only fanboys think otherwise.

reply

Yeah you're an idiot. Marvel all follow the same formula and dialogue

The astounding success of the MCU films is primarily due to how different each one is from any other in the franchise, yet all have a consistent tone that holds them together as a series. It's a testament to Kevin Feige's as an overseer, and something most other studios could stand to learn from.

Consider some of the films:

Thor:Ragnarok - plays like a Monty Python film with its dry wit and dialogue-based humor, yet is interspersed with a dark tale of death and the fall of a planet. It has the epic superhero moments one expects from such a film, but amidst absurdist and comedic moments.

Eternals - an epic of character-driven intrigue, calling into question the meaning of friendship and love, masquerading as a superhero film.

Spider-Man: Homecoming - the age old question, "what if Wes Anderson directed an MCU film?" answered at last. Whimsical and heartwarming one moment, dangerous and exciting the next. Nothing like anything else in the MUC oeuvre.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier - a cold war era spy thriller transported to the modern-day MCU, this film is often compared with Three Days of the Condor, and justifiably so. Again, totally unlike any other MCU film.

Avengers: Infinity War - the epic poem of the franchise, this dark story tells of the heroic quest of Thanos, and the obstacles he overcame to fulfill his destiny. Homer couldn't have told it any better.

Should I go on? Guardians of the Galaxy? Captain Marvel? Black Panther? These films vary widely from one another, yet always hit the mark.

I really wish Scorcese would make a Star Wars movie.

Hold your breath for that and see what happens.

I personally think the Marvel movies are a cut above most other modern blockbusters.

They’ve had a pretty good run between Iron Man in 2008 and Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019. I’d rather they kept making Marvel movies with Kevin Feige producing than a lot of the big budget garbage we get year after year like Fast & Furious 9, Godzilla vs Kong or another live action Disney remake.

Scorsese is one of the greatest directors of all time, but I think James Gunn is correct when he said Scorsese started crapping on Marvel films to help promote The Irishman. They’ll ask Scorsese his thoughts about Marvel again when his next film comes out and it’ll generate more headlines and more promotion.

reply

At this point Scorsese should respond "I dont make comic book movies why do yall keep asking me about them"? or "I've said what I wanted to say about that already".

reply

Id rather watch this, than sitting in a cinema watching say the Irishman , which i found to be disappointing.

reply

I already have tired of them. Getting boring. I ha e moved back to television dramas thrillers and well done action films like mission impossible. Doesnt mean I wont ever watch a comic book movie again but in the last 13 years we have had well over 40 live action films and 30 tv shows.....getting saturated indeed. Plus the fact thar CGI hasnt gotten so good to the point that seeing a resurgence say 30 years from now would not make anyone excited.

reply

you must not have seen many scorsese movies. the majority are not ganster movies.
are you not going to see Killers of the flower moon?

reply
