Just doesn't work for me...

I just thought the writers were trying too hard and it all came across as if it had been written by excited 14 year olds that thought they were being cool for overloading the script with swearing and sex talk. It could all have been new and clever, but unfortunately the live action series of The Tick got there first, and was far superior.
Just not original, lacking any wit or humour that anyone over the age of 16 would appreciate.

How can you comment on this?, It has not even been aired yet!!!

reply

Well, it's been a few hours, so I think I can comment on this:

Not a bad start (how many to go: 4 or 5?) to introduce the characters.

Some have more useful powers than others: i.e. MonkeyThunder! " How long before the monkeys get here?" "Oh, about two hours." "Great."
Timebomb's powers were probably the best: able to see 60 seconds into the future; although his dubious hobbies at home were a bit suspect!

Still, it's a bit sad to see the word 'gay' being used as an insult to people; I thought we lived in more enlightened times.

Ah, apart from that sticking point, I liked it: a fairly amusing bit of TV for Thursdays, and I'll be watching next week to see what happens...

6? Do me a lemon! That's a poor IQ for a glass of water!

Wenchy-foozy-moo!

I quite enjoyed it. It definitely has potential.

Considering the guy who was using the word 'gay' as an insult is clearly a complete idiot, I don't really think it matters.

I'm gonna have to agree with you. I watched a few episodes and felt the vulgar language and sex jokes sounded too forced and amateurish. It did feel like a 14-year horny high school freshman wrote this script. Patrick Baladi's character Excelsor was one of the worst characters I have watched in a long time. The only shining light in No Heroics was Rebekah Staton.

reply

Are you kidding me? Excelsor was probably the funniest character in the show.

"Why do you say this to me when you know I will kill you for it?"
