nicky's story would've been better for zel. kinda like larry flynt in the courtroom. nicky was in and out of courtrooms and always acquitted. if the thing doesn't fit, you must acquit. remm jackie from seinfeld? kramer's lawyer, with the golf instructor to help kramer's game? hahaha.

i did not like american gangster. they both snitched and ratted out everyone for their freedom. zel should've played nicky. scott should've directed this movie. yea yea, i know, american gangster a.g. was 10 years + in the making, so it got first bill.

I think Cuba Gooding, Jr. could handle a Nicky Barnes biopic if they ever decided to do one.

SPOILERS HEREIN.

The story of Frank Lucas is better because of the relationship between Lucas and Roberts. Lucas also ratted out a bunch of stinkin cops--how can you not admire a man like that?

relationship with roberts? hardly anything. just at the end of the film. there was no relationship where they shared on screen time together a lot. they were connected but no relationship.

nicky also ratted out. After Barnes cooperated with the government by working as an informant, Rudolph Giuliani sought a reversal of Barnes' life sentence.

frank lucas' story is similar to nicky barnes. but since the frank lucas story was in the making for over 10 years or something, it got made instead.

nicky barnes review, why he's more interesting than frank lucas.
he's a ex-junkie
he had some connection with rudy giulani.
he ratted out cops just like nicky barnes (denzel).
he was in courtrooms all the time, in and out.
he was working alongside nicky barnes.
he tried to undermine and override nicky barnes with the blue drug.

I think Mario Van Peebles would make a good Nicky Barnes in a biopic.

That really was a Hattori Hanzo sword.

Correction: Nick did it because he was angry as *beep* about Thelma and Shemeka. The freedom came on its own, he didn't even request it.
