Does this game remind anyone of Max Payne?

I don't know if I'm tripping, but this game seems to have brought in some elements of other games by Rockstar like Max Payne and Red Dead Revolver. There is a part in the game where you watch a TV commercial for a western, and the main character looks like the guy from RDR. And there's just certain times I feel like I'm playing Max Payne, like when you get knocked out and the camera blurs everything, and you slowly snap out of it like in MP. Broadcast Interrupted reminds me of a level Max Payne 2. There are also a lot of cutscenes throughout each level.

Well both Max Payne and Red Dead Revolver are both Rockstar Games. That could be why.

I wonder if they used some of the same programmers for MH2 though.

It does remind me a lot of Max Payne, mostly in the environment & the atmosphere of the game. The little things, as well, like the cheap hotels with the posters all over the walls, & the TVs with their repetitive programming. Also the Rabbit set at the TV station reminded me of the Funhouse level on Max Payne 2. At one point I tried shooting a water cooler in the Assassination level, to see if it would drain the water like in Max Payne.

Here's something interesting that I've said before on the Manhunt board. In Max Payne 2 there is a TV show called Address Unknown where the protagonist is a man who escapes from a mental asylum for criminals and is being tracked down by the staff of the hospital as well as sleazy government looking men who work for John Mirra (the protagonists evil twin). Well it turns out that the protagonist IS John Mirra and that he probably killed his girlfriend as well (who is said to have been kidnapped by Mirra) There is a scene where he escapes from the asylum and you can see/hear the protagonist kill the staff with a drill (Manhunt style hehe). The Address Unknown TV plot from Max Payne 2 and the plot to Manhunt 2 are very similar. I think that there was a connection here especially since Rockstar published the Max Payne games and Rockstar and Remedy are both developers under Take 2 interactive.
