Ya know...

Manhunt was a game that I rented from Blockbuster back when it first came out in 2003. I was 12, had no clue what it was about or what went on, I didn't even know it was a horror story. I played it and immediately fell in love.

I had to take it back after a couple days, got up to the Innocentz levels, but I absolutely loved what I had played up to then. Then my first PS2 started to slowly dae out... taking looooong times to load some games, and never even loading some others no matter how many times you put it in... when I finally got a copy of the game, it wouldn't play in the screwed up PS2 and it wasn't for a couple months until I got a new one. Well, I did eventually get a new one and beat Manhunt, about a year after I started playing it. I had a full year of Manhunt.

I immediately want a sequel, and years pass without one. Then in 2007 it gets announced!!!! I immediately checked it out online... only to see that it was a completely different story than the first. But hey, I was still in the mood for more. Then I hear about the censorship fiasco. Oh well, still wanna play it. FInally it comes out and I pop it in my PS2, eager to play the hell out of it.

Only this time it's different. The kils were executed, the story was... kinda lame. And confusing!!! I had no damned clue waht the hell went on near the final levels, it jumps around too much timewise. Hell, I thought that by the last level it was still in the flashback!!!!

So, I finally get my Manhunt sequel... only to be let down. Now I've replayed it, and to be honest, I liked it better that time.

There really are some cool ass levels on there, my favorites being the S&M club and the TV Station, the latter being just awesome. Love the bit on the western set. And there were some pretty cool new aspects, like jump/firearm executions, and you actually get an AXE!!!

But you don't get to keep the weapons throughout an area like the first one. No more gangs to deal with, just anomalys. Kind of a letdown.

Either way, I was really disappointed the first time around after so many memories of the original, but in time, I've come to enjoy this sequel. It doesn't begin to touch the first, but it's a worthy game. Bring on Manhunt 3!!!
