Half of the film as I said is of a normal day where absolutely NOTHING happens.
The other half is where they get a blackberry that two gangsters are trying to get from them and they have like two scenes where they get shot at, but they just eventually give it back to them by throwing it on a boat.
That's it.....

I kept watching the movie waiting for something more.
The ending is one of the worst I have ever seen, seriously.
It really is one of the worst films ever made.
They have one part where they show two sex scenes simultaneously from the two day scenarios, one happens in bed but the other happens on the roof of a dirty building and they use a flat box as their bed, which kinda ruined whatever that scene had going for it.
Dunno when it comes out, unlikely in theaters.

Could not agree more. Almost walked out of this garbage. The girl...whatshername? JGL's gal in the movie. She was terrible. I felt like I was watching a HS play.
Interesting idea that was poorly executed and horribly acted.
Let me remind you of this: "The script was written without dialogue. The actors developed all the dialogue with the directors during rehearsals."
You obviously don't understand the point of this movie. It is supposed to be very relate-able, like these could be two days in anyone's' lives. The couple has two ways to spend 4th of July, on their own or with Lynn Collins' (lead actress) family. They flip a coin and the audience does not know which choice is chosen.
However, instead of following one choice, they follow both. The green choice (green meaning "go") is that of an uneventful, yet interesting/underlined with problems.
SPOILERS: Lynn's Mom obivously does not approve of her being with Bobby (Joseph) Uncle Diego suffers from some form of early Alzheimers. Olivia Thirlby is quitting college. Lynn's character is pregnant and doesn't want to/doesn't know how to tell her family. There is a dead brother that no one brings up.
It's the typical family reunion. We all have those unspoken issues that we don't want to bring up in fear that we'll ruin that one rare, special day we have together. My point being, all these scenes are totally REAL.
In the yellow (proceed with caution) scenario the two embark on a seemingly uneventful journey to a Chinese restaurant for 4th of July lunch. Except it turns into anything but. Of course they don't know how to react with the opportunity of obtaining 500k, what noncriminal would be able to think up something so diabolical and criminal-minded on the spot? Their day is laced with insecurity and uncertainty (haha) with what to do and how to act.
The point of this movie is that it is REAL.
No, JGL doesn't obtain a huge machine gun and kill all the bad guys in one single, mind-blowing move. No, no one dies while serving 4th of July dinner at Lynn's house. This is not that kind of movie, it's not meant to be.
If you can't be more open minded to different movies, then don't bother watching them. If you didn't enjoy it don't go on with your mindless slander and ruin it for everyone else who's yet to see it.
Yes, I enjoyed it as well. Sorry if my previous post came off as confusing, I was really angry with the other guy for bashing on it so much. He just seemed to totally miss the point of the entire film!
