I find the reactions to this movie and acting very shallow from people that seemingly expect only Hollywood polish and reject independent reality. I found both leads [not to diminish anyone else] to be quite realistic and really human in their actions. How often do you see a couple bed after a significant day and she pushes across her nose and he yawns. I for one, love it.
As far as Ms. Collins goes, she did fine, differently cosmetic in each mode, differently involved, and differently sexy in that fantastic dress. Her struggles with pregnancy were well done both by her, them and the script, for those of us that have been through those considerations. The family relationships were unbelievably real and well done as she was put in the middle of so much. And the waffling support, fear and action in the other mode was at least more than adequate helped by the dress.
I really liked the movie, more comment than for this thread, and found it generated a lot to think about in its juxtaposition of unexpected found phone angst set against the angst of considerations personal and family and the other phone.
And as to the title of this thread, Ms. Collins distracted me, a decrepit old guy who is enthralled by attractive women who finally get over indecision, which really was the title proper of this movie, and try forge some place in their existence. The early shot of her with back light on the bridge, beautiful dress pushed into her loins, was to me simply one of the most fully dressed erotic scenes, followed by many more real life exposures. Kudos to the cinematographer Kathy Li. I for one, want to see more from her viewpoint.
