the older brother.. (spoilers)

when i saw the end i generally assumed that the older kid (the last one to die) was Quims son. anyone else agree or think why this is not the case?

further reasoning was Quim asking Maria, several times about family and kids. him stating his situation with his ex was 'complex' and he was on his way to see her. finally the dog ran up to Quim at the end and started being very friendly as a dog might behave when seeing an old master.

I've just watched this on my Sky+ and I was puzzled as to why the older kid didn't kill Quim after his brother had been killed. He walked up to Quim and let him take the gun. And there's the thing with the dog too. And how he seems to be in grief at the end - as if it was his son.
I also thought that Bea was in on it for a while, and even the two coppers till they were shot.
I was also wondering why they didn't take the coppers guns when they'd been shot, and why they didn't take the gun after the cop was shot on the rocks. Just your typical dumb people in horror films, running around in the open with no thought of getting a weapon, not even a stick!

There are FOUR lights.

Dunno mate, I thought the same when watching the movie. I posted about this last year and you felt I was watchiong a different movie! Fair enough but I would advise you to view the final 15 minutes again with an open mind and you may have a similar viewpoint. I honeslty believe that Quim was part of the game and thats the "twist"!

I know several people who have watched this movie and agree with me about the "twist". I don't think anybody on here or elsewhere is imagining/creating a twist. My interpretation of the climax of the movie is that Quim is part of the game, especially after viewing the scene with the younger brother. Anyway, I enjoyed the movie overall.

I also agree that there is no twist, subtext or different reading to what is directly shown on the screen. A flat story is a flat story, I belive it is as simple as that.

well there hasn't been much opinion on this thread however opinion is divided. whether i concocted this ending up or not, i don't really care much. it's been years since i watched this movie. but i do love it when a complete stranger comes on to a forum and behaves like an arrogant twat. such as yourself (mrcherubs)

No, the two shooters were brothers and unrelated to Quim. And the dog was definitely not Quim's. You're reading way too much into it.
