Quim TMI and Police Reaction

Good film, but would anyone in Quim's situation - having been shot in the leg, needing urgent medical attention and, most importantly, needing to get the hell away from danger - really mention to the police that in addition to their situation they'd also run over one of the killers and left their body on the road?!!

At that stage I thought the police were quite sinister and might be involved with the killers, the way they reacted disregarding the guy's leg wound and roughing up the girl.

Turns out they were genuine cops. Not mentioning anything else would have got them all out of there.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

The policemen were weird, especially the younger one. Did he kill the older colleague, or was he shot by the kids? I didn’t get that.

They were both shot by the kids. The older one on the side of the road and the younger one on the rocky slope of the hill. I couldn't believe that after he'd seen his colleague shot, proving that Quim's story was true, not to mention the three of them being under constant sniper fire, he still wanted to keep the gun on Quim and Bea.
