Dante's Trademark

When the South Park figure is lowered into the hole..I was wondering if it was originally going to be a Warner Brothers character...to tie in with Dante's trademark. Maybe the budget didn't allow for licensing or he was put off by working with them on Looney Tunes Back In Action?
