Why the hell

Was there no US release for this movie? They previewed things about it at San Diego Comic Con in 2008 to much applause, alongside other very forgettable movies that I (obviously) can't remember, but those other movies came and went, and this never saw American theatres. Anyone know why?

reply

Because it wasn't good enough. No one would take a risk on releasing it, and they were right not to. The movie played like a feature length episode of "Are you afraid of the dark?" and had production values to match.

I don't know. There's a lot of crud that sees theatrical releases that's much worse than this movie. If the special effects had been better, maybe someone would have taken a chance with it.

Exactly, there are far worse pieces of crap that are released both into the cinemas and onto DVD so it's very odd that this is not available in the US (especially when it is available in the UK). It's a shame because it actually is quite a good horror lite film for kids.

Why the hell would I care about a discussion called Why the hell?
