Why do daughters always need rescuing in action movies? Why not sons? Would men be embarrassed if they had to rescue their teenage son? Would there be some meathead sat in the audience thinking "Jeez that's just embarrassing, that boy is almost a man and he needs his daddy to come rescue him, grow a pair kid and fight your own way out of there."
