WHO WAS JOHN CUSACK IN THIS MOVIE?

Who was he supposed to be? An old friend of Jason Patric, a relative, an army buddy, a childhood playmate - what ? and why did he help him and why wasn't he afraid of Bruce Willis who "owned" the town ? Why was he in this movie - wasn't important to the plot at all. Maybe he owed money to someone and this was his way of paying him back.

I loved John Cusack - But in this movie he looks awful and this role was completely unnecessary.
What a shame ! He must be desperate for roles to take this one. Even Bruce Willis's role was small. Gee Whiz what a disappointment.
