Humour + damncare attitude about fantasy makes this brilliant

Loved the whole nod to "Mughal-e-Azam". Absolutely brilliant. I loved how they mimicked the Pyar Kiya to Darna song from that - where Madhubala was surrounded by hundred of mirrors, they had Ayesha's face shown on lots of tv screens. It was such an intelligent way to do a modern-day hommage.

Whenever Prabhu Deva stepped away from the "serious" part of the movie he was completely unapologetic about it. Which made it work really well - the attitude was, Look, Salman is going to break into song or break the fourth wall (ie look straight at the camera) and we dont care if you like it or not or if it messes with your suspension of disbelief coz you knew what you were getting into when you started watching a Hindi movie.

And the moment you have your hero take a call, at the end of a dance routine, saying, yeah I was dancing with Prabhu Deva , really the audience cant help but be charmed by that. Dont start to think - ok, so that wasn't a fantasy sequence? Anyone who starts to analyze the shortcomings of the film based on acting, storyline, plausibility is just wasting time. The film is clearly meant to charm you for a few hours and you'll finding yourself smiling a lot. (I mean I was laughing out loud when they were stuck in the lift but you might not get the references...)

When you watch Prabhu Deva's choreography its about style and attitude with bits of humour thrown in (and technical perfection if its him that's dancing) so it comes as no surprise that this is a film delivers all of these in abundance.

Kudos to you man. Hope the world sees you as more than Benny Lava.
