Wow ... some powerful stuff

Watching the first 2 episodes on Biotv just left me with my jaw on the floor. These tales of survival are just heart breaking. The one where the boy tells about how his best friend died on top of him. Almost brought this man to tears.

I know, this show is amazing. They said to this day from where their plane crashed, they don't know how they got any reception on their cell phone. crazy.
Or bridgette... the girl who survived being shot 3 times! could you imagine?? These stories are so unreal.

I watched the first 3 episodes. I can't wait for the next episode.

I watched for the first time last night. I'm still freaking. Poor, poor Brandi!!! Prayers for her and everyone effected by the vile that is Michael Vaca. I don't understand the hatred.

And the doctor and his wife.

Moral of the stories: Do NOT help out strangers. Call 9/11 instead. (No, Brandi and friend didn't have cell phones...maybe call from the store or something).

Wow!

so true.. i guess it's better to be safe than sorry. I live in a relatively small city, people are friendly here... and if someone asked for a ride, who didn't live that far... I know some people probably wouldn't think twice about it.
After seeing this show though, it's really not worth it. Don't give rides to strangers, no matter how unassuming they appear.

These people are very brave for sharing their stories and going through what they went through.. This show has definately affected me. I find myself thinking about it throughout the day. Great show

I'm glad people are watching it so others can be more aware, etc. The sharing of these tragedies is so generous...it really helps us learn how to better protect ourselves.

I found newspaper articles AND pictures of Michael Vaca. CREEPY! Flat out fugly and creepy. I just do not fathom how someone can do what he did).

Re: giving strangers rides, just calling for help for them seems the safest approach.

Prayers for this brave people on the show and their loved ones.

The woman who told the story about picking up a hitchhiker (the one whose friend was murdered) said they felt safe picking him up because they lived in a small, safe town. In this day and age, hitchhiking or picking up hitchhikers (either way) is just stupid.

Agree, it was a stupid move on their part.

more people need to be aware and empathetic

reply

I agree, we all need to be more aware of who/what is going on around us. It could save our lives. For me, this show is sometimes really hard to watch because of the terrible things that have happened to these people. I can truly empathize with them; however, at the same time, it has certainly instilled in me an awareness that things are not always "rosy" and that the quiet, peaceful area that I live in also has the potential to harbor people with evil intentions such as those depicted on this show, so we should all beware and use some common sense regardless of where we live.
