Just as I had hoped maybe it would get better

Steve shows his complete ignorance of what it's like to be in an abusive relationship. Today's show featured a woman who had been out of her children's lives as a result of being in an abusive relationship. Steve said "you never pick a man over your kids." Really Steve? Having been a cop he should know it's not really that simple. Chances are she tried before to get out of it, but it's hard!

Just makes me angry how Steve simplifies a very difficult issue.

He just wants the best for people who are in an abusive relationship like that. He does make it seem so much easier to get out of a situation like that, but I believe that it's easier said than done.

If he wants to help people he needs to stop shaming the victims of domestic abuse. This isn't the first time he's done this either. He ranted at a woman who was abused on finding out that the guy she was dating(who was ABUSIVE) was underage when they first got together and the poor woman didn't know until after the abuse started. Instead of letting it drop and focusing on the abuse that woman suffered, he got on her ass about it. Then, proceeded to make stupid jokes throughout the rest of the show. I'm sure the woman who was abused REALLY did not need to be reminded of that.

Whether it's "not really that simple" or not..the statement is fact. No one should pick a man over their own children.

no of course they shouldn't but many times when a woman gets into a abusive relationship the best thing she can do is get her kids to a safe place. And that's not always with her.
