Take it for what it is

People try to make the flick into something it isn't. Take it for what it is, a simple story about a simple guy. Yea, some of the things may seem a bit far fetched but it made it interesting. Te music was dope, and I realize that isn't what makes a movie good. But the acting was good, Josh was a bit young in '94 but he did grow up in NYC, as did Levine. Famke, Olivia and Jane Long were excellent, and Ben Kingsley is an absolute beast. Also remember that the budget was rather low. I think with the resources they had they did an excellent job. This is one of my favorite movies. One that I can watch over again and get something new out of it. Don't let other comments on here chase you away from the flick, it really is great.
