Anybody kinda annoyed that this always gets described as a 90's trip?

Not that it isn't accurate. There's a lot of nineties stuff thrown in there. But I think if you see this mainly as a 90's nostalgia trip, you're missing the big picture. That's sort of what it's organized around but that's not what it's about.

This is mainly a coming of age story with a role reversal. Basically, Luke becomes a mentor to this washed up hippie psychiatrist. Basically, Luke acts like the parent at home as well. Dad can't pay the bills and Mom and Dad fight like they're kids. So basically, Luke has to grow up fast. So it's up to him to try and fix things.

I mean, I can understand why they market it this way in the ads, because they're looking for an easy hook. But anyobody that's actually seen this movie knows that it's not "That 90's Show".
