Underrated

Ok, this movie isn't the best boxing movie ever made, but it is one of the top 25% and it is one of the best Australian films ever made.

Why do i think it's underrated? Well it's not a bad movie, i'd give it 3 out of 5 stars, and it was one of the best movies out at the time. So it's unfortunate that it's only made back $300,000 so far from an $8million budget....i'm referring to the article in the Sunday Times over the weekend.

Personally i think this is the type of film that we should be making every year. I did my bit and saw it in the cinemas, and the cinema i saw it in was about 80% full. After it's opening week it sort of dropped off though.

I hope the producers have taken the European market into account, as it could still make it's money back perhaps in countries where home and away is popular - release it in Sweden, Norway, Germany, France, Italy, Britain - plus DVD sales, it should hopefully make it's money back and won't be such a blow to morale for self-motivated Aussie producers like Fazio!

It did have the makings of a reasonable boxing movie, but there seemed to issues with the script to my way of thinking.

We're supposed to be sympathetic towards Anthony but from early on he seems to have a real vicious streak, just like his dad, who whilst supposedly anti-domestic violence, has no hesitation in handing out a violent beating to an alleged wife/son basher and then getting into an over the top confrontation in his own home over his son, not unreasonably, wanting to have a break from boxing.

Neither Father nor son, appeared to have much of the stuff from which legends are made.🐭
