Worse than I ever imagined

How did this get a 7.2 rating? I started off willing to handle anything from a decent movie to a dumb comedy, but this was awful. In real life, this idiot would have been arrested for being a stalker, and he's supposed to be the "good guy"? And of course Aniston just accepts it, that he tracked her down all the way across the country. I can't believe I watched it all the way through (with some fast forwarding), but it was just with the idea that something worthwhile HAD to be coming up. Never happened.

i can think of nothing to reply to this.. i just wanted to emphasize this brilliant and illuminating defective brain vomit... i mean.. quote...

i wonder, how many people are really humans, and how many are barnyard animals pretending.. they really need to keep the sheep off the internet.

And what, pray tell, was illuminating about YOUR post?

If you can't think of a reply, why reply at all?

Honour thy parents. They were hip to the groove too once you know.

I was steered away from this movie by negative hype and a few negative reviews that claimed that the film started out ok, but suddenly devolved into a crazy stalker movie half way through.

I'm sorry that I mistrusted my better judgement on this one. This was another small gem from start to finish, much like The Good Girl.

Just honest and smartly written and executed. I gain more and more respect for Aniston every day, for her decisions to make small honest films.

She is one of the most beautiful, and sexy women of our generation, and yet she continues to make these small films. There is not a Super Woman hero role in her past, and I doubt there will be one in her future.

And Zahn, who has always been brilliant, changes stride in this one to play this character to perfection.

And not to mention the supporting cast in this film. The character Al is so fascinating it defies description.

horrible predictable movie. I only watched it because of Jennifer. Had to fast forward through a lot of sappy scenes. I know Jennifer can act so I wish she would get better roles.

reply

What do you mean by "I wish she would get better roles"? She produced this movie, she chose this role for herself. It's not like she got stuck doing it because she couldn't find anything else. If you didn't like this movie, then perhaps you don't really like Jennifer Aniston, you just like an idea of her that's only in your head.

reply

She is very attractive and easy on the eyes. If the movie was better like the Good Girl or Friends with Money, I would actually watch the entire movie instead of fast forwarding to her scenes.

this is so much better than rubbish like 'how to lose a guy in ten days'...the two main characters were very realistic; they both went through huge character growth from the beginning to the end. it's a pity tho it was not marketed as something along the lines of juno...

Truly an awful movie that only gets worse as it progresses.
That being said, the first 20 minutes or so are somewhat amusing. It was funny when Jennifer asks Steve if he wants to touch her butt and then says to go away. The actor playing Al does a good job. Woody Harrelson as Jango is under utilized and his character is serverly undeveloped. He could have really turned the movie around. Instead this thing just falls apart into a movie with no interesting motivations or plotlines. I had to really struggle over a month to get throught it LOL. A waste of a lot of great actors. It's hard to believe this film was more than a "Let's get together and make a movie".

reply

My main problem was Steve Zahn. What the hell? Why cast someone with downs to be in a relationship with a super hot woman? It just doesn't make any sense and totally blew any chance of realism. Plus yeah he was a stalker he would've for sure been arrested.

reply

yeah wtf was the girl doing offering her butt to touch by some weirdo guy from management?! bad bad bad

This is the worst movie i have seen in 2009. I really hate it that i wasted my lifetime with such a crap!

reply

I hope something extraordinary happens to you someday, and then you'll take back every word you just said. Or, on the other hand, I hope nothing significant ever happens to you, and that way you can continue to not live.

It's a movie, and unrealistic things are going to happen to make the movie work. Funny thing is, unrealistic things happen in real-life all the time. Judging from what you just said, you want the good looking guy to always get the woman in point, even if he doesn't deserve her.

I know this sounds like a Disney movie, but let the unthinkable happen and maybe your life will be a little more extraordinary.

Sorry if that came off rude...

My husband hated this movie, but I didn't think it was that bad.

This movie was far from the the terrible crap people are complaining that it is.
Steve Zahn was wonderful in this movie and I didn't expect that.
During at least half of the movie, I thought, 'Why does Sue not think that he is a stalker?' Then I reallized that she recognized something in him and he in her that made them both trust each other on some level. It's the basis for a lot of very well-done romances you see on the screen. If you don't sense that, then you don't believe the people will ever get together. When they somehow do, it's not believable. This was believable.
After a slow beginning (which was probably necessary to set up some premises), this movie kept me interested every step of the way.
I was watching it on my computer. The computer crashed twice and I had to reboot twice!

Lighten up!

She doesn't accept it right off the bat. Each time he appears in another part of the country she freaks, and little by little, she's falling for him, and WANTS him to be there.

I never considered Aniston an intellectual but
this demonstrates how dumb she is.
Of course, she stalks younger men, so maybe she thinks its OK.
"When somebody follows you 20 blocks to the pharmacy,
where they watch you buy toilet paper,
you know your life has changed."
Maybe she's shooting got a spot on "Cougar Town".

reply

Uhh... she's an actress. She played a character. Douche. It's clear you aren't an intellectual either. Seems to me you have a hard time differentiating from reality and fiction.

Oh, and your enter key is broken.

"I never considered Aniston an intellectual but this demonstrates how dumb she is." This movie has a subtle, smart script and she knew that because she is smart.
