wow its like TLJ all over again!

reply

It's hilarious really.

reply

must be trolls and racists that hate women

reply

Racists, WTF is wrong with you?

reply

There is a ton of overlap in those two groups. A Venn diagram of misogynist and racist would damn near be one circle.

reply

There's a ton of overlap between racists and people who don't like this show?

reply

At least Johnson never lied (to my knowledge). He made terrible decisions but was at least man enough to stand by them.

Smith flat out doubled down on his lies about being a fan and also that the leaks weren't true.

But they were.

He sold us a show on false pretenses, now he's claiming "review bombing" for the RT debacle.

No, Kevin. You lied.

reply

đź‘Źđź‘Źđź‘Ź

reply

Rian blamed some stuff on Russian bots , like they would review bomb Star Wars film

reply

Russian bots/hackers and Nazis play the same role in Woke religion than Satanic Sects played in traditionalist Christians. They're the boogeyman.

reply

Yeah.

I hate Last Jedi, but rightly or wrongly, Johnson made the movie he wanted to make... and defended his decisions.

Smith lied. And now plays victim.

reply

I hate Rian Johnson with a passion, but everyone is correct about him.

He made a crap film, blamed Russians, blamed bots, blamed Nazis, and even blamed #GamerGate (lol?) for people hating on The Last Jedi.

However, he and the studio never said The Last Jedi was anything other than what it was. Even the reviewers claimed that it WASN'T what fans expected, and Johnson -- I'm pretty sure -- said in interviews that he wanted to subvert expectations.

So in that regard, yeah, at least Johnson was honest about how he ruined Star Wars. Kevin Smith and his lying and attempting to discredit Clownfish TV was skullduggery of a feckless nature for a true dastard.

reply

100%.

reply

The funny thing is that this is supposed to be some pop-corn show, where audience used to give a much higher score than critics. I can understand an Ingmar Bergman movie getting a higher critic score, but... Masters of the Universe??? Are critics high??

reply

they not high. they woke

reply

Pretty much.

At this point, there is zero doubt in my mind they would defend literally anything as long as they perceived it as sticking it to those disgusting nerds.

They really are that childishly petty.

reply

And well-paid.

reply

Those so called critics are shills paid by Netflix.

reply

yes, they are high(ly paid)

reply

Seems that audience rating is increasing slightly as time goes on, which I thought might happen after the passionate initial reaction from fans dies down and the casual viewers start adding ratings.

I think it’s also interesting that no one is mentioning the fact that the critics rating isn’t actually that high, sitting around 6-7/10 on average, which is enough to count as a “fresh” score and give it a high percentage. Seems to me a bit over the top to get too upset about a pretty mediocre score like that. It’s not exactly as if critics are falling over themselves raving about it. They are being pretty moderate which I personally think is fair and reasonable.

From what I saw I would rate it a little lower. Maybe 5/10 would be fair since the first ep didn’t inspire me to watch more.

reply

Or once RT scrubs some bad reviews

reply

Maybe, but the number of ratings seems to be increasing with the increased % so I’m not entirely convinced. The audience rating is currently 35% fresh which is starting to look fairer and less like an organised attack launched in the first couple of days of screening.

Not that RT ratings (critics OR audience) should be overly important to anyone who is smart enough to use them as a rough guide, rather than an absolute final word on a show or movie’s quality. There’ve been many low rated productions I’ve enjoyed and high ones I’ve thought were average to poor.

People worry too much about this stuff. I find it a bit lame.

reply

Look at the reviews on audience score and look at who's leaving those 5 star reviews..new accounts.

So they are trying their best to prop it back up but the damage is done

reply

I’m not saying you’re wrong but my point was, what does it matter either way?

I’m not defending the series either. It wasn’t really my thing. That said I have no problem if others enjoyed it. It’s a cartoon based on toys, at the end of the day. There’s more important things to worry about than it’s rating on an entertainment website.

reply

That's fine but you made the point the score was going up and I countered why that appears so.

If it doesn't matter either way then why do you care?

reply

It’s like trivia, interesting enough to comment on and amusing in regards to the extreme reactions but nothing that will change my life. Like 99% of the discussions on MovieChat.

reply

Ok...no one comes in here expecting to crack quantum physics we come here to praise/trash movies, shows, politics or just have general discussions

So still what point are you trying to make?

reply

Sounds like you’re trying to goad me into an argument and I’m not interested in that.

I think I made my point pretty clear but to reiterate:

1. The individual critic ratings aren’t that high. 6-7/10 on average.

2. The audience score is increasing as casual viewers add their ratings.

3. RT ratings don’t mean jack.

reply

Hey, when the critics are in your pocket, they'll write anything you want them to, even if it's an outright, bald-faced lie!

reply

Wow 3 thousand people who probably all got there marching orders from Clownfish TV to hate even before it came out. Im willing to bet most people are waiting for part 2 comes out to make a final judgement. Than the Rating will go up from there.
