Ok this film was not as bad as I was expecting but that first scene with the girl running for her life through the subway and then getting on the escalator only to stop and wait for it to take her up instead of still running from the killer :P had to mention that because it was that moment of "this movie is going to be stupid" but it does get better, it has other odd bits like that but all over it was worth a watch :) 5/10
Her leg was hurt but she ran through the subway, up some stairs, across the platform and stopped on the escaltor, didn't walk up it, didn't run, she just stood and then proceeded to hobble when the machine was put into reverse. The first scene alone just made me think the entire film was written to the dumbest crowd imaginable, if the opening scene can't shock me and make me think then I will get bored and quit watching.
You should never treat your audience as if they are stupid, it will only alienate them, this movie definitely started out dumb.
Your post comes off a little high and mighty, although that was probably not the intention. Anyway, 99% movies have at least one stupid character, or at the very least one stupid decision or moment in the movie. By that logic, every movie alienates its audience.
A lot of reviews are being harsh I notice, but not considering the scope. Yes the plot was minimal, and yes the lighting was bad sometimes, but it's a low budget STV horror movie. The point isn't to make you think or anything. It's a movie to turn off your brain to and relax with some friends who like horror movies. As long as it's got some good gore and a few interesting kills, it's not a total loss. There are much much MUCH worse horror movies out there...
