Everyone dies

reply

thanks - but what happened? were they close to getting away? what?

reply

Kip Pardue kills all the bad guys and is about to get away as he sees security opening a gate to an exit but apparentlY he missed one cause the very last shat someone runs up behind him and you hear the sound of a machete or whatever being swung at his head as he turns around.....unless it was a dream....pretty crappy ending to a mediocre movie w/ some decent gore

reply

I doubt it was a dream. It's the fugly kid who kills him.

I got the crazies.

reply

This movie makes me want to SLAP whoever wrote this junk! Idiots.

The others are correct they should have put a knife in the stupid crazy kids head as well....everyone dies.

What a dumb movie!

reply

lol i was tripping half way through. so now homeless hobo cavemen are smarter than university graduates. what gonna be next?

IN THE END THERE WILL BE ONLY CHAOS

reply

Sadly it's the most atrocious ending to a film I have ever seen. Up until the ending I was satisfied with the film, it wasn't groundbreaking but nor was it terrible. But the ending just slammed it face down into a pile of crap and left it there.

Horrible ending, absolutely horrible. It doesn't even make sense because there was a wide enough space between the guy and the place the kid supposedly came from. As if the security guy didn't see him.

reply

I agree. It would be a somehow decent satisfying horror flick if the last 2 seconds were missing.

It would be best not to watch the last minute of this movie. I can't believe the moron called his wife rather than the cops before being ripped apart. Four bloody people died, you friggin moron. oh god.

Moment of Fridge Brilliance:

Friday the 13th pulled similar shenanigans at the end of their flick, only to reveal in the sequel that it was a fake. I feel the same about this one, citing this final moment as a bit of early onset PTSD kicking up the gears.

The background behind the kid slashing away was different from what was really behind him. The scene was not well lit, as this tunnel now was and the area looked different. The point of the security guard is another reason I disbelieve the ending- the security guy would have seen this kid coming well before hand, as there is nothing behind him but an open, empty corridor- you are going to notice the dirty kid with a spear coming. Not to mention, quite as you may try to be, a place like that will likely echo.

Which goes back to how would he not notice either.

Also, I doubt a subterranean dweller whose activity takes place at night is going to go rushing at sunlight or in an open space.

I think the ending was a cheap shot at a final jump, unnecessary, but likely intended to be false. He turned around, probably saw the security guy, freaked and then recovered.

Now, as for calling his woman before the police- human nature. Wrecked my car big time a few years ago. First call was not 911- it was to my woman. When we are under serious stress/trauma, our logical thought processes shutdown as we enter fight or flight mode. We act instinctively and think more with emotion than well thought out ideas. His first impulse would not to be call the police, it would be to call his woman.

Based on the fact that they make a point of showing the kid picking up the dead cannibal's machete (or whatever), I'm pretty sure that last bit was supposed to be real. We know nothing of the kid's background, really - the non-cannibal homeless people seemed to go above ground at times, since they were bartering things they'd stolen.

I personally thought they should have just left the ending without the stupid jump scare - originally when the guy is on the phone with his fiance, she makes him promise to come home in one piece. He could have said something like "I kept my promise" or whatnot.

Anyways, I disliked this movie, yet somehow watched it until the end. I hate when I do that - then I end up wasting my time slamming it on IMDB, lol.

They're coming to get you, Barbara!

I agree with Twosocks actually. The kid attacking was probably a real attack, but I don't think it was directed at Mike.

reply

i agree with Twosocks.
as far as people not liking an ending where everyone dies, Shakespeare did it all the time.
don't think i'm putting "Stag Night" in a group with Shakespeare. again, before i get ripped, "Stag Night" IS NOT literature, but sometimes everybody does die.

. These things were smart enough to track humans like animals so im sure they would be smart enough to know dont attack that close to the open surface

They might but the kid just saw his family dead so he is acting on more of a pure rage and revenge state of mind, and not thinking clearly.

What about the police officer that they killed, his police is going to notice that he won't respone to radio calls and he didn't show up at the end of the shift. They would starting looking for him, plus the 911 call the may have went though.

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT BUY THIS MOVIE!!!

If you do so, all you're doing is allowing Hollywood to think they can continue to put out crap-o-la and get away with it.

That being said, you didn't miss anything. This is the first horror movie where I wanted everyone to die and when the hero was actually walking out of the subway I was laughing because I figured out that the jump scare was coming. That and the fact that I'd get my wish and everyone would die. I mean this movies script left you hating everyone one involved from the production team to the actors to the company that financed this. You even hate yourself a little when you realized you stayed up until 4:30 in the morning on a Sunday night knowing you have work in a few hours (that's what I did. Yes I hate me right now). This thing was like a bad car wreck and I can't fathom for the life of me why I didn't turn channels or shut the TV off when I saw the undeniably idiotic way the 6 characters got off the train (really who does that? Why not just move to the next car? The doors aren't locked).

OP if you want to see a way better movie all the way 'til the end, watch the original 'Wrong Turn' or the remake of 'The Hills Have Eyes.' At least those were done right.

I'll watch just about anything, but who would buy this kind of film?

Oh no, the whole movie was pretty bad. But the ending was especially dumb, I agree. I didn't mind that much though; I hated the main guy so much I was relieved he died (And don't even get me STARTED on Vinessa Shaw's character. I love her, but Brita was awful)

Kip's acting was fine. His character was an absolute idiot and needed to die. It also pisses me off that he cared more about a girl he knew for about... 3-4 hours than his own brother he'd lived with his whole life.

Wouldn't want him to live. Original maybe, but he was too injured for it to be believable and he rendered himself unlikeable with what he said to Breckin Meyer's character. Really, I wanted everyone except Breckin to die horribly

Frustrating ending, but in these types of survival gorefests, it's common to have such a grim resolution.

This was a slasher through and through. Not sure why anyone was expecting high art. If anything, it's more entertaining than a lot of the DTV horror movies on Netflix and Amazon Prime.
