Quote from HEAT

I saw this movie yesterday , and i must say, Pantoliano is very good in this B-movie, only if you want to say a good quote, don`t steal it.
"I say what I mean, and I do what I say" , was a quote from HEAT.
Further....a rather good actionflick.

You think the writers of Heat made up that quote? I doubt it. If the worst criticism you can come up with this then why bother? And even if they did, what's with the 'stealing' bit? Are those words forever forbidden to future screenwriters? Very trivial.

reply

Yes, it`s forbidden.
Happy now????

"I say what I mean, and I do what I say".

Reminds me of what he said in Bad Boys:

"I know what I said, because I was there when I said it".

Except they didn´t steal anything. And everyone says your line,Mann wasn´t the entrepreneur of cavemanlogistics...it is a very simple line. Pantoliano delivers that line very good...."You´ve been investigating me long enough to know that I mean what I say and I do what I Mean!" More profound, sounds more threatening.

"only if you want to say a good quote, don`t steal it.
"I say what I mean, and I do what I say" , was a quote from HEAT."

Okay....HOW do you say a good qoute without stealing it? A qoute is the definition of stealing a sentence of words already said. And that didn´t happen here- You sort of botched this one a bit in the few ways possible.

seems like HEAT stole the line from Dr Seuss's "Horton Hatches the Egg" - "I meant what I said, and I said what I meant"
