shareIt was a chest x-ray, and they had him coughing now and then, so they seemed to be hinting at a respiratory problem of some kind. They never explained it in the film, though.

Yes, it's never really followed up. I had the impression he may have had lung cancer, but that narrative thread, just seems to be quickly forgotten.🐭
