Did anyone else think that Kroger and Helene slept together? The atmosphere between them while they were reciting the chess moves seemed to become very intimate, and then suddenly the next scene is Helene outside with Kroger. She looks a little disheveled, and then she gives him a very passionate kiss - goodbye? I almost hope they did not become intimate. I know she loved her husband, but there was something special about what Helene and Kroger shared. I liked the intensity of their relationship without the sexual complications.

The scene with them reciting the chess moves while staring at each other has to be hands down, the hottest non sexual scene in any movie. Wow!! I wouldn't blame her if she jumped him after the way he kept looking at her.

It's nice to be nice to the nice.

So did I , but as to the thread question, no I never thought their relationship paralleled that of the American couple to that extent.🐭
