The best film I've seen this year, so far.. Any thoughts?

I was so impressed by this film, it really spoke to me, and I found myself overwhelmed.. what do you guys think?

You told him to play the boxer gay?

For me it was the same! I think Tornatore realized the Big Movie of his life.
It's simply wonderful!

I just saw it at the Palm Springs Film Festival and really didn't like it much. Most of the time I had no clue who any of the characters were. It was way too long, and the subtitles were white, and illegible through much of the film. It is no Cinema Pardiso!

I watched it last night and for me it's in top 3 movies in last 2-3 years. Story is beautiful, dynamic and the fotography is wonderful. I really enjoy it and can't wait to get it on DVD.

I am amazed by this film. The light hearted and warmth that i felt is something that reminds me of The Wizard of Oz sensation when I as a kid and I was crying because i didnt want the movie to end. What a wonderfull job by Tomatore, cast and crew.

It doesn't tell a story quite like Cinema Paradiso but it is visually stunning. The sepia palette throughout echoes the likes of The Spirit of the Beehive and Traffic. A far better film than a 6.7 average score.

It was better than I expected given its rating. The great Morricone score helped it along, but overall this attempt for an epic did not move me nearly as much as Once Upon a Time in America or Amarcord. A good example of the whole being smaller than the sum of its parts. Like a sumptuous feast that lingers for a few days, but not much longer.

Oh that magic feeling -- nowhere to go.
