But Dinosours were long gone during this time peroid

There were humans in the first film so why are there dinosaurs in this film? This isn't 5,000,000 B.C. more like 10,000 B.C.

The movie is fiction .
In fact they were meant to be extinct anyway but the story brought up the notion that some actually survived under a very thick sheet of ice.

The answer is simple: they got there by taking The Dinosaur Train.

Dinosaurs were long gone in 5,000,000 B.C. too! They became extinct around 65 million years ago, and many of the species depicted were gone long before that. However, it's explained in the movie that these dinosaurs are a relict population that managed to survive the great extinction in a 'lost world' beneath the ice. Is it realistic? No, of course not, but it's just a plot device in a work of fiction. Bear in mind that many of the prehistoric mammals depicted were not in the correct time or place either!
