Favourite Discworld couple?

So whos everyones favourite Discworld pairing from the books?

Mine would have to be Captain Carrot and Angua. They have such a complicated relationship, but they always seem to find a way to make it work. Plus Angua's werewolf traits make for some interesting/funny moments. Like when she compares herself to a dog that would probably come running if he whistled, or the time when she had to resist the urge to lick his face when he gave her praise.

My only gripe is that they never tied the knot! :(

Sybil & Sam Vimes?

What about Fred Colon & his wife? They have a very successful marriage despite (or perhaps because!) they meet infrequently.

Mort & Ysabel?
Cohen & Bethany?
War & Mrs War? I quite like them as a couple!

Favourite couple for me even if it wasn't for long was Nobby Nobs and Tawnee (the exotic dancer) in Thud ,just so mind boggling for everyone to understand that it was deeply comical.

reply

It has to be Sybil and Sam Vimes doesn't it really? They just work so well together! And that moment in Guards Guards where she slaps his naked bottom and he replies "Madam, I am the captain of the watch!" is pure gold. :D

reply

I take pairing not as romantic relationship

Death and Susan
Sam and Vetinari

Those dialogues are one of the greatest in the book.

If romance is involved

Sam and Sybil
Carrot and Angua

Granny Weatherwax and Tiffany Aching.

reply

Magrat and King Verence is another good one but Angua and Carrot have a classic romance

reply

Mine is Sybil and Sam. Finding the right person after being alone for so long twinges my heart.

reply

Fred Colon and Nobby Nobbs. They are like a twisted Laurel and Hardy.

reply

Carrot and Angua, definitely my favourite characters in the books.

carrot and Angua are quite interesting. Certainly he's more atotractive than most discworld men the girls end up with. Moist and the grumpy girl from Going Postal are also quite interesting.
