This was the BEST worst movie ever!!!

Seriously, this was so fun to watch because it was so very terrible! I taped it and I'm so glad because now I have something to watch when I need to laugh!

****Spoilers****

I just can't figure out what the best part was...was it, as someone else noted, trying to figure out what happened to Daryl Hannah? Was it when the swim instructor got eaten? Or all the people who suddenly forgot how to stay on a boat and fell overboard and got eaten, but somehow, in the little tiny town, nobody noticed them missing? Or the EPA lady falling into the , and the brother knowing exactly where she had fallen, even though he wasn't there and how she wasn't even wet when he pulled her out. Maybe it was F. Murray Abraham smiling at all the students and signing autographs(!!!) or maybe, that he was able to see the "swarm" on the satellite and estimate how long until they hit the shore (They'll be here in 30 minutes!) even though every time someone fell in, they were on them in seconds!

Come on - you know you loved this movie. What was your favorite part?

reply

ITA! My favorite part was when the college professor brother called some guy and asked him about the pulse guns that he got from the Navy, and the guy says "no one is supposed to know about those guns." And then he said "OK, I'll have them charged up when you get here." WTH?!

What about the random scuba diver who got eaten?

It was darn satisfying to see all of the people who deserved it get eaten, though!

reply

Also, did you notice at about 1:08 when he pulls the shark tooth from the hull of the boat it is embedded upside down. Too funny!!

reply

That was a good one! And how bout the part where the guy was fishing in this tiny ass boat and snags a shark who pulls him out of the boat, and while he's in the water being dragged, he's still trying to real the line! PRICELESS!!!

reply

LOL I agree, that is what made me laugh the most. All these residents disappear over the course of a few days yet no one notices or even cares.

Death to Videodrome! Long live the New Flesh!

reply

Yeah must have been a really tight knit community. I especially like the pier ceremony and how one of the investors says what a good turnout it is, yet only 20 people show up.

reply

Favorite parts:

Agree with the other post - the man fishing in the tiny boat and still holding on to the fishing rod and still fishing as he is pulled out of the boat as he goes through the water.

How the EPA lady puts a small blanket over a heavily barbed-wire fence, as if that would make much of a difference when crawling over it.

How, there are supposed to be a very large number of sharks, but in a few scenes ABOVE the water, it only shows (I think) four coming toward the camera from the horizon in perfect positions from each other and moving at the exact same speed. I thought they were riderless jet skis the first time I saw this scene, which is repeated at least twice.

reply

Or the fact that when the little girl screams "my parents is sitll in the water!" you can see htem at about 3' from shore yet when the heroine dives in the water is at least 15' deep.

i´m in Portugal and this was just on tv. I have to say that this movie was one of the worst movies i have ever seen which was good because i laughed a lot , and after reading the previous posts i laughed even more. Some of the scenes described here are just priceless.

reply

worst ever."come with me if you want to live".

reply

What amazes me is that it had some half-decent actors in it.

Terrible film - it does have more holes in it that a mouse swarm on a lump of cheese!

reply

a guilty pleasure indeed. i watched the whole thing, talking back to the TV and everything. loved it!

reply

I didn't see the beginning (It was on virgin 3 or something really popular in the uk last night) hang on doesn't phosphorus smell of eggs. therefore wouldn't dumping gallons and gallons of the stuff make the whole bay smell a bit "Farty", easy to tell something was up me thinks! also noticed the depth of the water was as pointed out before, really wrong. many really badly repeated shark attack scenes, very little blood after attacks. Main problem though, if all the fish in an area dried up, why would all the sharks for miles around come to said area, why not go where there is food. or eat each other! A totally rubbish film. Still I sat up till after midnight watching it, so who's the idiot?

reply

I just watched this last night in Lisbon as well! It must be a big favorite here in Portugal!

Just watched this amazing abomination on Midday Television in Australia, There is a lot of tripe on midday Television and lots of badly made trash with actors no one has ever heard of, what makes this truly remarkable is that it contains swags of actors that used to be good or have appeared in a good movie.
For such a large collection of these actors to systematically destroy their reputations in what is the worst of this genre I have ever seen is bizarre at best and could be taken as a tongue in cheek reflection on the actual movie.
As swarms of sharks gather to feed on unsuspecting souls, so have these actors gathered for a career assassination.

Just caught the last 30 min on Syfy, probably best I missed the rest.
"Pulse guns"! WTF!
Actors (used loosely) in 3-4 feet of water pretending to be swimming.
Watching the part where the diving class is starting at the end of the movie- let me guess...sharks...
