Searchers reference at end

Cab someone explain to me the scene at the end with Wes Studi looking in at Charlie and his family. The camera shot from inside the house with him framed is directly from The Searchers.It then shows another scene after with him going in the house if I remember correctly. Anyone know whar it is supposed to mean? Thanks.

At the end of The Searchers, John Wayne's character is left alone outside, after he had delivered the girl back to her family. At the end of The Only Good Indian, Wes Studi's character is welcomed into the family, after delivering the boy back to his family.
