Cut scenes ???

Ok so when I watched the film in the cinema there was scenes with taylor and kate after prom where it implies they make love, then there was scenes where kates mother is trying to find out for kate why taylor hasnt phoned.

so I just watched the dvd and the scenes are not in the film nor are they on the dvd extras all we see is kate taking pills and crying into anna.

has anyone else noticed this ?????

The scenes you mention are to be found during the copy of the film I have. Are you sure you didn't miss it?

A flood's not the answer, people just float.

No im sure, I have a UK copy do you ?

The scenes are there in the uk tv version so it is surprising that they wouldn't be in the dvd version, although I haven't seen it. The BBFC site says they didn't impose any cuts for the video version to pass it as a 12 certificate, compared to (12a for the theatrical release). The length is different but that's probably due to the respective framerates of film and video. Any chance there was a fault on the dvd that caused it to skip a few minutes? If you watch it again maybe check for a jump in the time at the point where the scene should be.

Thanks, I did watch it again and the scenes were there, I must have pressed skip but accident thanks for your help :)

Can somebody please help me? I live in the USA and saw the movie twice in the theatres. The first time there were two "extra" scenes. There was a fire where the victim didn't speak english. This helped bring out Brian's character more and his job. Also after Anna won her case and she goes out to "celebrate" with the lawyer. Anna and the lawyer come upon a car accident and begin to assist the victim, when a train is coming at them. I wanted to read the book, knowing that movies based on books have differances and then saw the movie again. Both the above scenes were omitted which sadly disappointed me, but were in the book. (There was more drama and more suspence the 1st time). I got the DVD when it was released and was frustrated that the DVD was like the 2nd viewing and the "deleted" scenes were not on the DVD either. I know that some movies have an extended version but am wanting to know what happened or who to contact. Is there anyone out there like me that knows they haven't lost their mind in seeing things and remembers the scenes I do???

I am going crazy looking for a scene near the end where Cameron Diaz delivers such a powerful monologue I felt like a knife was lodged in my throat. I’d love to watch it again, more than a decade later, to see if it still has the same effect on me. It’s not included in the DVD I rented. Does anyone else remember this theatrical version scene in the hospital room? I witnessed the performance of a lifetime!
