Wait, so this isn't really a remake?

You know normally I look down upon carbon copies of old movies, but I was actually looking forward to a true remake of this movie, instead it's some guy sitting on a chair for 88 minutes? I applaud their originality but still, I'm a bit disappointed, now I'll be the only person in my whole generation who knows about the 1971 masterpiece.

I'm from gen x and love the 71 film. If this "remake" really is the OC guy sitting in a chair for the entire film they have royally srewed it up.

reply

No, it's not a carbon-copy of the 1971 film. But a film-adaptation of an off-Broadway play starring Jeff Daniels in the early 80's.

awwwwww man! I was lookin forward to a FILM! like the original.. which was AWESOME!

Give it a chance, geez. It's amazing. Ben did an astonishing job with how much he had to put into it. You guys need to open your minds more. Plus it's not just a camera on a stage. The director made it very artistic and got right into the dramatics Ben put in.

I'm not too sure about this whole one-man performance though it seems to me that this version will force you to use your imagination to see the other people surrounding Joe.

Vampires are so overrated. Thanks Twilight!

If we wanted to use our imaginations to produce the movie, we wouldnt have to watch it in the first place.

BOO on this remake.

reply

so you're saying that it's a remake of a remake.

is the same jeff daniels that played the mildly retarded lover in ruthless people?

reply

that wasn't jeff daniels, it was bill phullman in ruthless people
