I remember when Cartoon Network only had cartoons....

Those were better days...

reply

I miss some of CN's old programming. But I really liked Reanimated and this looks really good.

reply

how could you like reanimated? it was horrible acting was bad, scenes were mind numbingly stupid, what did you like about... seriously I am trying to understand how this series got made... when i saw reanimated... I spent the 48 hours afterwards looking for ways to get in touch with cn to tell them just how awful it was.

reply

It's not much of a Cartoon Network. Is seems CN is going downhill like Nick did. D:

I remember the good ol' 90's cartoons. =_=

well if you get Boomerang, then you get the classics, they were apart of my early(try very early) childhood, up until age 5 or 6.

I came here to say the exact same as the person who started the topic. CN was way better around 98 and decent up until now. I stopped watching cartoons but I've had a son and he's totally into cartoons so now CN is on all the time but when I glimpse at it I really feel like I'm watching Nickelodeon or some crap Disney with shows like "Out of Jimmy's Head" which I thought was a Disney show for the longest time. Things would be better with Johnny Bravo and Dexters Lab and all the old, good shows. Stuff like this is turning CN into just another crappy kids channel

reply

you are so right. They are not really nice people either! They treat people like dirt! They should stick to cartoons and they don't have to deal with human beings!

reply

Otherwise they would call it the Live-action-cartoonetwork.

reply

I must say I am worried about this. I really hope it doesn't become a trend.

I don't like, or watch nick, or the disney channel because they have live action.

With any luck it wont survive the season.

reply

I guess noone remembers back in the day before CN had a huge lineup when they would play shows like Bear in the Big Blue House and stupid shows like that. Back than I questioned "Isn't this suposed to be a cartoon channel?"

reply

Big Blue House was the Disney channel, stupid.

reply

This show wont last past the first season....then ill be sitting back...and laughing my ass off ^__^

reply

Just like Evil Con Carne...

At least it has cartoon characters - so it's borderline I suppose.

Either way it looks about the quality of a Disney channel show - which is bad. No offense to anyone working on the show or hoping it succeeds.

reply

The Show is just a badly made rip-off of Ned's School Survival Guide, which is actually a decent show, but with crappy reject cartoon characters plopped in to make the show more interesting when they really just point out how boring and generic the show is. Even the commercials for it show how crappy it is, with the actors actually TELLING you that you will enjoy yourself and that you'll love the character then they cut to clips from the show and THEY'RE NOT FUNNY!

EVIL CON CARNE was good. So was TIME SQUAD.

The only GOOD show is CODENAME KIDS NEXT DOOR, which is due out in Novemver. They should air it early. Morons! >:(

reply

I miss all those "cartoon cartoon" shows. (Like Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, Ed Edd &Eddy, Dexters Lab, and a lot of other Non Cartoon Cartoon Shows i grew up watching) Now theyve replaced all that with crap thats Barely unwatchable. And im also scared bc of this show. I hope CN doesnt take it to the next level and start making more live action shows. Then it'll be like MTV. (No music shows, just reality TV shows)

reply

Why aren't they just selling this to Nick or some other kids network?

reply

They should bring back Johnny Bravo, I.R. Monkey, and all those other shows. It's like when VH1 (video hits 1) and MTV (Music Television) stopped showing music videos.

What the hell is IR monkey? Are you talking about from cow and chicken the IM weasel and IR baboon?

And my bad, I was thinking about big bag and for some reason typed out bear in the big blue house. Probably since they were both ridiculous shows. Irregardless, there was a show like bear in the big blue house on there, back in the late 90's.

reply

CN is turning into the Disney Channel. So sad. Thank you Time Warner!

At least they got it right with "Chowder" - such an amazing cartoon.

reply

chowder is stupid!

reply

[deleted]

I know seriously. Wtf is up with chowder. Also, theyve gotten lazy with animation bc his stupid hat thing's design stays in the same friggin place (i cant really explain what i mean about his hat but youll prolly get me.)

I will never forget this one commercial, maybe about 10 years ago, on Cartoon Network or some other channels, and it kept saying "cartoons! we will nevrer stop showing cartoons! 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, forever and ever and ever until the end of time!!!!!!" Anyone remember that commercial? I'm dead serious.

YES! I totally remember that commercial!!!! I thought of that commercial as soon as they put this live-action sh!+ on the air!

I personally think the golden age of CN was before the Cartoon Cartoons when they would have shows like The Bugs and Daffy Show, Swat Cats, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, Cartoon Planet, ToonHeads, Late-Night Black & White, World Premiere Toons, Down Wit' Droopy D, The Morning Crew, The Popeye Show, Super Chunk, and 2 Stupid Dogs.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed some of the Cartoon Cartoons like Johnny Bravo, Cow & Chicken, Dexter, and Ed, Edd n' Eddy, but then they started showing Cartoon Cartoons 24/7.

Don't tell me I should check Boomerang becase I can't afford anything more than cable.

My Philosophy: Jerry O'Connell rules and Brad Pitt drools!!!!!

reply

YES! Absolutely. I grew up with Cartoon Network and all of its cartoons like The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, and most of the classics, I also sort of liked Cartoon Cartoon when it had Johnny Bravo, Dexter's Lab, I Am Weasel, Cow & Chicken, Courage The Cowardly Dog (even though some were idiotic, hey I was a kid then).

Now they've moved all the classic cartoons to Boomerang, causing 95% of Cartoon Network to have shows like Out of Jimmy's Head, Hi-Hi Puffy Aniyumi (if they still have that), Grim Adventures, Teen Titans (which is tolerable), Ben Ten, Codename Kid's Next Door (if they still have that as well), the 3000th Season of Pokemon, Naruto???

At least the CN was nice enough to keep Scooby-Doo (my FAVORITE CARTOON CHARACTER OF ALL TIME), Tom & Jerry and Courage The Cowardly Dog which I like. They've also been airing Goosebumps, but honestly Goosebumps, while good doesn't belong on the CN and then there was that God-awful Halloween-esque movie with Disney Channel star, Emily Osment the one where she's a Goth girl.

Are the standards really that low nowadays that crap like this is what children want to watch? I mean I've also seen promos on the CN with kids "rapping" and some other crap where this awful R&B cookiecutter boy band B5 performed an obviously lip-synched song.

I mean come on, what is wrong with this generation?

reply

I say we all make a petition for CN to have just one day of showing all their classic cartoons on.

"If you really want to kill your self with food sir, I have a gun rack over there."

reply

I'm surprised someone brought up grim adventures of billy and mandy as one of the bad shows, I actually enjoy it. It's more like the, not classic, but the great shows on CN, like Johnny Bravo, Dexters Laboratory, and all that.

reply

Thankfully the format has changed. I couldn't stand those kids...B5, wtf.
And God forbid the live action exceeds past a Sunday night movie. This show made no sense being on CARTOON Network.

reply

I feel your pain, honestly I do.

I used to watch Cartoon Network all the time. I mean all the damn time. And I loved to watch Toonami on Saturday nights.

Now it's just new people trying to turn the network in to Nickelodeon.

And they just won't stop until they create a live action show that will hit it with the ratings.

I hope that never happens.
