Watching Quentin Tarantino act is like watching a cripple trying to walk

Awkward, cringe worthy and embarrassing for everyone involved.

Yes a cripple.

Richard Jenkins....You are my hero

Agreed it was cringeworthy. He should just stick to directing.

Utah! Get me two.

reply

@bradzilla. Agreed. Obviously QT has never been much of an actor, but the attempt to play a big, burly bruiser of a guy really exposed him, stopping an otherwise pleasantly pacey film dead.

Agreed on both counts. Well, maybe not perfect, but good.

Maybe I don't know enough about acting, but I actually liked Tarantino's acting in this film...it's in Pulp Fiction that he is a bit cringe-worthy.

I'm afraid there is no God.....

reply

pulp fiction is considered by most to be his best acting..

His acting is supposed to be bad and funny. His dialogue about the gun being simplicity itself is like something out of the mouth of some smarmy Bond villain. When he starts yelling for Cherry to "Wail, baby!" that's a reference to the Russ Meyer exploitation film Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!, which was about go-go dancers gone bad.

reply

Hadrian, you're missing the point..it's not a matter of "I meant it to be bad acting"..QT is ONE AWFUL ACTOR, and should give the roles to actors who can handle them, rather than stink up the screen with his annoying amateurish presence (at least Hitchcock had the good sense to keep his cameos short and mute)

I agree with Klownz though. I thought he was outstanding as 'Ritchie' in Dusk til Dawn. Maybe there are certain roles he's perfectly cut out for and others just don't fit him at all.

# its his films, he delivers a great product superior to 99% of directors, he can do waht e likes

#2 he is an actors director, and gets the best performance out of many actors. SLJ is never as good as in jackie brown and pulp. ever if you dont think he knows his own acting is corny/amateur/crap, i dont know what to tell u

This entire movie, nah, genre is like that.

I love Quentin Tarantino, I think he's hilarious in this film

The film isn't great to begin with, and then Tarantino shows up. Stay behind the camera, Quentin.
