Plot similar to the movie 'Layer Cake'

I thought the plot of the movie was very similar to Layer Cake.

***SPOILERS****

The lead actor is having an affair with one of the bad guys' girl and he gets nicked in the end unexpectedly - these are the only similarities. Daniel Craig doesn't double-cross anyone, and Neil Nitin Mukesh isn't a smuggler who's about to retire but is asked to find someone's daughter. No ripping off on the part of Sriram Raghavan, case closed.

Just an observation, did anyone think the name "Johnny G" could've been a little nod to "Memento"?

It's an ingenious solution to a problem that should never have existed in the first place.

I thought JG was a well made bollywood movie.
It was on IFC channel the other day.
