This show is racist! - Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County (2007) Discussion

There was one on the third season of LB (Cami), but she said that she's about one-quarter black. I don't think there has been any evidence of systemic racism on the show so far. If we find out that the MTV casting people specifically said, "No blacks," there would be.

Do you see any white people complaining about all black cast programmes and saying oh they're soo racist?!!
Er no.
So stupid! It's not racist at all to not have any black people in a show.

Actually on BET there is a show called Baldwin Hills which is a Newport/ Laguna Beach style show with an all black cast....might check it out

Orange County doesn't have a lot of black people. Especially Newport and Laguna. They're predominantly white.

Maui Fever suffered some accusations of racism, though. Only about one-third of the population in Hawaii is white, and the entire cast was white.

Well then there should be asians too. Not that I am asian but if there were white and black there should be yellow people too.
Maybe those guys and girls that this show is about didn´t have any black friends.

Maui Fever, I can understand but this show is based in a mostly white city so of course there will be no blacks. Now, if it was based somewhere like Chicago or Atlanta and had no blacks then that would be a problem.

It's an accurate portrayal of Newport Harbour. No one complains that the Cosby Show is racist meanwhile the white people aren't exactly running rampant.
