This film is brilliant.
I loved this film. It is fragrant and sticky, and it's beautifully-cut scenes are like deeply inhaled drags, each one either more ethereal or more surreal than the last. The abject disconnectedness of the modern world is displayed on such a morbidly individualistic level that the audience cannot escape its effect, an effect many audience members undoubtedly feel themselves. Yet the compositions and colors are stunningly attractive, surrounding the characters and expressing their moods and states in a way that no dialogue ever could. Put this on your list.
