Guess I'm the only one who liked it....

*Spoilers*

I dug the vintage style way it was filmed. and all of the different passengers.
the gore was really out of control and insane. I was surprised there were some touching moments. such as one of the Asian women sacraficing herself by igniting a bomb. or when the African American gentlement offers one of the girls his jacket. I especially liked when one of the girls began singing "It's oh so quiet" over the boat's loud speaker.

it was interesting how the Asian girl ended up buying her freedom. that was unexpected. people complained that most of the characters turned on one another. but that's most likely how it would've played out in real life.

Only thing I disagree with the gore being "out of control" as I've seen PLENTY worse, but as a horror fan, I agree, this movie was enjoyable! It was a perfect combination of Texas Chainsaw and Hills Have Eyes on a SHIP! I really enjoyed this flick and ranked it a 7/10 (I'd rate it more of a 6/10, but given the low 4.9 rating, wanted to give it a benefit of the doubt point).

**SPOILERS AHEAD**

I was a bit confused by the Asian girl's "buying" of her freedom...since the French guy ended up "getting it" toward the end and we cut to her on a plan, all nicely made up, looking like she loves life! I saw half of this movie on Friday & the rest this morning, so maybe someone can clarify something I might've missed?!?!

Hrmm.. I thought she had torched the entire place to make it look like an accident? so he'd get some $ from that. which is why she said "I can get you alot of money." I could be wrong.

It looked like she had put a straw through the hole in his neck so he could keep breathing? meh... now *I'm* confused as to what happened to him. I'd have to watch the movie again.

A long span of time probably went by when it cuts to her on the plane. she is seen sometime the next day on the plane. the 2 girls stuck in their lifejackets had been there all night long.

Come to think of it why didn't the Authorities in the boat rescue the two girls in the water?? they'd had to have investigated the carnage on the ship. I didn't understand that part.

I thought the Whale would've rescued the two girls. but the one Blonde turned into more of a bitch and tried to stab it to death.

The Lighthouse guy is last seen in a car with chopsticks stuck in him. This confirms that this is definitely a very dark comedy. I was chuckling throughout the film. But I really didn't understand why the girl at the beginning who goes off with the guy even needed to be there? Pointless. But the movie was fun and Since I just went to Iceland it was a pleasant reminder of the trip.

I was sorely disappointed with the movie and especially with how it ended. It was your typical 30+ years and counting run of the mill horror movie style of ending. Meaning? you can guess who will survive and who wont. Let me put it this way without giving character names... the men get killed and the women DON'T. At least not all of them!. It would have been nice to see a guy survive for once in a horror movie. Horror is getting to be really predictable and stale and well SH!T if I'm honest!. I find it morale killing to see them bitches fighting among each other and the guy sacrificing himself so the women can get away. Yeah, like we've never seen that before in a horror movie!.

3/10

It's time we had a breath of fresh air in this stale atmosphere of a genre!.

Mr. Jones: "Versace?. You can't even spell Versace."
Uncle Elroy: "Fosatchy, f-o-satchy."

The girls lifeboat wasn't seen because they dropped the tracking device in the water. I just want to mention it is true how people turn on each other when there is crises. I was a conductor and I have had to evacuate trains, sometimes in dangerous situations. First there is always someone who knows more then you. Since I am a woman that makes it particularly harder because of people and their stereotypes. And secondly people start fighting with each other. Most of my time is spent just making sure they know the only person they are suppose to listen to is me and stopping the squabbling or people from falling apart.

I liked it too and I was happy that Endo survived!

I liked this film a whole lot. The pitch-black humor and profound sense of bitter misanthropy gave this one a real distinctive edge.

You're not the only one, I liked it alot. There were a few things that were confusing, such as why Endo talked the older asian lady into sacrificing herself so easily? Unless I missed something.

But yeah, this was pretty great!
