A Strength of this Film

Regardless of how significantly weak this film is, it's still pretty damn atmospheric in capturing the 1700s to 1800s while infusing the DC mythology. On top of that a cast that is pretty damn enjoyable, if only Michael Shannon had more of a role and not one of a couple seconds.

Shannon's portrayal of Doc Cross Williams in that deleted scene could have been a highlight of the movie. Sadly all we get is that bit at the fight where they don't even say who he is or why his "sweet brown" elixir turns people into zombies.

I have a theory that he was only in there in the first place to set him up as the villain in a possible sequel, but maybe the film makers realized in the end that a sequel to their *beep* movie wasn't going to happen, because they sure didn't have to cut his scene for time reasons.

If anyone is interested in learning more about the character of Doc Williams I recommend reading the graphic novel, Two-Gun Mojo, or you can watch the motion comic version here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sB7a7kBeXXw
