Jennifer Lee Wiggins is amazing

I can't even dignify that other post by responding to it.

I made a point to look this girl up after watching her on the show "Life" - and someone directed me to "I am Omega". She impressed me in both. PLUS, I saw her in a Scifi channel movie playing a native american, and she was the ONLY female to hold her own in that film!
She's gorgeous AND she can act!
Aside from her - kudos to both Mark Dacoscos and Geoff Meed did a stellar job in this film as well. Renchard's deteriorating mental status was well played my Dacascos, and Mr. Meed brought a whole new essence to the word "creep".
I've seen a few films by the Asylum, and I have to say that this is one of their best efforts.
My main reason to chime in here is not only to defend Miss Wiggins, but to bring my opinion to the table in opposition to the previous poster without paying any type of homage to his offensive subject title.
Side note - I'm shocked to discover that they did this film in 12 days! That makes it more impressive to me. I'd love to see what these people could do with just twice the amount of time and budget.

That's your opinion - this is mine.

People give these Asylum films a bad rap, and I suppose that most of their movies are pretty questionable. But I applaud their audacity and their ability to produce flicks literally by the skin of their teeth. It reminds me of old-school Roger Corman, which did similar low-budget, high-spirited ripoffs in a way that actually revealed some true filmmaking talent behind the limitations. Folks like Scorsese and Peter Bogdanovich emerged from those silly campfests. I'm still waiting for a bonafied Asylum masterpiece a la Corman's "Targets" or "Fall of the House of Usher," but "I Am Omega" contains enough shoestring innovation to let me know that they have it in them. I sincerely hope that folks like Ms. Wiggins, Meed, et al are able to establish successful careers out of the houses they build as Asylum. That is becomes a stepping stone like it did for Corman's people instead of a stumbling block.

and thank you Tin Man for your kind words. Asylum was for me, a way to get scripts made (even though they didn't stick entirely to what i wrote because of budgets, director/producer changes, etc.) but nevertheless, a company like the Asylum offers OPPORTUNITIES. and that is where their true worth lies for me.
thanks,
