Not A Real Soap

Echo Beach is not a real soap - it exists purely as the object of Moving Wallpaper.

Yes it is a real soap. Tony Marchant, the creator, has said that you should be able to watch Echo Beach on its own.

It is more fun to watch after Moving Wallpaper though, loads of cross references and in-jokes.

I thought Moving Wallpaper exists as an object of Echobeach.

Yes he said that, and you clearly believe him. He may even believe it also, but that does not make it true.

Watching Echo Beach and seeing the interventions every five minutes from Moving Wallpaper, listening to the ridiculous corny lines and observing the deliberately dreadful plot, I've come to my own conclusion!

Having said that, the real irony would be if EB picked up lots of viewers, more than MW, and was recommissioned without Moving Wallpaper, as a stand alone soap; a Cornish Hollyoaks (but even worse).

I watched a bit of EB one day and was like "yeah sure whatever". it seemed a nice enough way to spend a lonely friday...

Then today I get home from college in time to see this Moving Wallpaper lark. I had heard it was good but had no idea what it was about. And I saw the Echop Beach set and was like "that is an actual show"...

I'm tired and confused.

However I love Moving Wallpaper. Very funny! Echo Beach - ok.
