Not showing at the Cannes Film Festival

The website mediakiller.com would have us believe that:

"DARK RAGE Premiere screening will be held at the Cannes Film Festival"

However it is not being shown as part of the festival. The director has hired a screening room in Cannes. Big difference. Don't be fooled.

Pedant, your post is a inappropriate discussion!

Dark Rage's premiere will be shown at the Cannes film festival. It is not in the competition no but a high percentege of the film's being shown over there are not!
Please stop harassing us, or even better get a life and find something better to do with your time!

The point is it is NOT being shown as part of the festival programme and you're making out it is.

Where does it say anywhere that it is being shown as part of the festival programme? All it says on the site is that "DARK RAGE Premiere screening will be held at the Cannes Film Festival." Which is true, is it not?

"DARK RAGE Premiere screening will be held at the Cannes Film Festival."

That would lead me to believe that "it is being shown as part of the festival programme."

HOWEVER I have a copy of the list of films showing at Cannes and "Dark Rage" is not one of them. To the producer of that movie :

1) Why lie and say it will be shown at Cannes when it is not ?

2) Is that just a foolish deceitful attempt at getting distribution ?

3) Do you really think any legitimate distributor would fail to do their homework before handing over thousands of dollars and signing a contract ? Especially when that homework merely involves perhaps a few minutes at the Cannes Film Festival website ?

4) Or do you plan to sell copies of this amateur "movie" on your own website ?

Also ...

"Dark Rage's premiere will be shown at the Cannes film festival. It is not in the competition no but a high percentege of the film's being shown over there are not!"

Those films that are being shown "out of competition" are still part of the Cannes Film Festival. It just means they will not be among those that are chosen for the top award, but still share in the prestige of being officially selected to be shown at the festival .

"Dark Rage" is shot on a Sony HDV Z1. That is a VIDEO Camera. The Cannes film festival ONLY accepts films shot on ACTUAL FILM. Secondly its invite only. So you cant just set up a screening nearby and say your film is part of the festival. That is ridiculous, untrue and an outright lie.

You say its not listed as being screened at the Cannes film festival however you are wrong my friend.

It was in Variety magazine and below is the proof check page 9 of the pdf

http://www.variety.com/graphics/print_pdfs/052208Cannes.pdf

And it was screened in the Palais not outside.

My advise, get your facts straight before you comment on this board as you don't want people thinking your stupid.

take care
